Sometimes you do everything right and still feel stuck, you go out, you circle, you hesitate, you leave early, and you repeat the same pattern. and at that point you need something that forces action. Usually it's losing something that will force it. Then after you do that a few times you train yourself that everything is okay
One tool I used is a simple accountability bet. because it creates a clear consequence that cuts through excuses, and usually forces you to do the difficult thing.
here’s how i used it:
- i set a clear goal for the next session - i picked a long time limit so it was doable - i made the consequence real (EG. Sending $40-50 to my friend if I don't complete it and telling them prior) - i focused on attempts and lowering the bar
The key is to keep the goal reasonable, you are not trying to punish yourself, you are trying to push through the first layer of resistance. once you complete a session under pressure, your confidence improves because you proved you can act even when you do not feel like it.
Over time you need this less, but early on it can break the loop and get you out of the rut of not approaching
Do the reps.
