Your environment shapes your behavior more than motivation does. I noticed that when I prepared the situation ahead of time, approaching people became easier without needing to force it. because the decision was already made.
Choosing the location the day before helped, deciding where to park helped, even planning the time of day helped, because when the moment arrived there was nothing to think about and nothing to negotiate with.
here’s what planning looked like:
- pick one busy place for the next day - decide the exact time window - decide where to park - have clothes ready so i just leave
Another thing that helped was avoiding situations where I would go home first, because once you return home it becomes harder to leave again, staying outside and going directly to the location made consistency easier, and over time those small changes build real momentum.
Control the setup and the small inputs.
